Ingrouille was previously the CEO of McCann Thailand and, until recently, the Southeast Asia area director for McCann – a role he took over from Sorab Mistry in November 2007.
Kevin Ramsey, the newly appointed CEO of Publicis Asia Pacific and his former boss at McCann, said Ingrouille is "one of the great personalities in our industry in the region. He is a strong strategist, committed to creative excellence and built McCann Thailand into a powerhouse in the market. We expect him to do no less for Publicis."
Ramsey also said that in his business development role, Ingrouille would initially "be tasked with increasing the overall level of new business activity for Publicis, in particular with regional clients, and improving the profile of the agency."
Ingrouille said that he was happy to be based back in Bangkok. "Everyone knows how I love the city and the country. But more importantly, when I looked at the Publicis offering, it was the Publicis difference that got me really excited. If ever there is a network ready to take-off in the region, it’s Publicis."
On Webb's departure, Publicis Worldwide COO, Richard Pinder, said that he has had a distinguished career with Publicis and is leaving "an excellent legacy". "We are excited to have attracted a person of Mark Ingrouille’s calibre to replace him and strengthen our regional management team."
Webb, who has spent 37 years in the advertising business and most of it in Asia, said his career in advertising had been a truly wonderful ride. "I have been lucky to work with some unbelievably talented people around the world," he said.
Ingrouille's departure in December was rumoured to be part of a wider regional restructure which was initiated by McCann's new Asia-Pacific head, Michael McLaren, who joined the agency after the departure of Kevin Ramsey.
Ramsey took on the new role at Publicis in January, following a decision by the agency’s Asia CEO, Matthew Godfrey, to return to his native Australia.
