Film winners: Cannes Lions 2018

A reasonably successful category for APAC with nine award wins out of 74 in total, with Thailand flying the flag for the region.

Two Grand Prix were awarded in this year’s Film category: P&G Cincinnati/Saatchi & Saatchi New York for the Tide campaign series, and BBDO New York for another P&G campaign, ‘The Talk’.

In addition, the Film category saw 10 Gold Lions, 20 Silver Lions and 42 Bronze Lions. Although nine for APAC may not sound that impressive, three of those were Gold, which is impressive:

  • Ogilvy Bangkok for ‘The Secret’ for Monde Nissin
  • Greynj United Bangkok for ‘Friendshit’ for Kasikornbank’s K Bank – this also won Gold in Entertainment and Silver in Film Craft
  • Cummins & Partners Sydney/History Will Be Kind Sydney for ‘Stop The Horror’ for Go Gentle Australia – this also won Gold and Silver in Film Craft and Gold in Entertainment

APAC also took home three Silver Lions, with Thailand once again representing:

  • Tohokushinsha Film Corporation Tokyo/Hakuhodo Tokyo for the ‘Date’ campaign series for Sakeru Gummy
  • Lobster & Co Bangkok for ‘Forever’ for Ele Thailand
  • J Walter Thompson Sydney for ‘Virtual Equality’ for Queeraz

Finally, the region also won three Bronze Lions, with Thailand taking another two and four in total:
