Dentsu, Mindshare, Ogilvy win top honours at AOY South Asia

Mindshare and Ogilvy regained the ‘South Asia Media Agency of the Year’ and ‘South Asia Creative Agency of the Year’ titles, respectively, while Dentsu was named  ‘South Asia Digital Agency of the Year’ as the 2019 Agency of the Year Awards for South Asia were presented Tuesday in Mumbai.

Mindshare’s extensive metal haul across South Asia consisted of:

  • Gold in the India Media Agency of the Year category
  • Gold in the Pakistan Media Agency of the Year category
  • Gold for its Sri Lanka office in the Rest of South Asia Media Agency of the Year and the Rest of South Asia Digital Agency of the Year categories
  • Gold in South Asia Integrated Marketing Agency of the Year
  • Silver in South Asia Experiential Marketing Agency of the Year
  • Bronze in India Digital Agency of the Year and
  • Bronze in South Asia Social Media Agency of the Year.

En route to bagging ‘South Asia Creative Agency of the Year’, Ogilvy won:

  • Gold in the Pakistan Creative Agency of the Year category
  • Gold in the India Creative Agency of the Year category
  • Gold in the Pakistan Digital Agency of the Year category.

Phoenix O&M won Bronze in the ‘Rest of South Asia Media Agency of the Year’ category.

Dentsu won South Asia Digital Agency of the Year on the back of a gold for Dentsu Webchutney in ‘India Digital Agency of the Year’, as well as silver in the South Asia Social Media Agency of the Year category and bronze in India Creative Agency of the Year.

Saregama retained its Brand of the Year title.

People awards

In the ‘People’ category, Mindshare India had four wins:  Anupama Basu won the South Asia Young Achiever of the Year title. Somnath Saha took home the South Asia Channel/Engagement Planner of the Year award. And Rituparna Dasgupta was South Asia Strategic/Brand Planner of the Year. In addition, Mindshare's Team Purple Pursuits won the South Asia New Business Development Team of the Year award.

Dentsu Aegis Network India had two wins. Ashish Bhasin won the South Asia Agency Head of the Year accolade, while Dentsu Webchutney’s PG Aditya won South Asia Creative Person of the Year.

Heval Patel of The Womb won South Asia Account Person of the Year, and Ogilvy’s VR Rajesh was runner-up.

Vikram Mehra from Saregama won the South Asia Marketer of the Year title.
