As more Asian companies invest in international markets, as well as international corporate investment in the fast-growing Asian region, Edelman said it has been steadily expanding its capabilities in M&A and capital markets work in the region.
In this newly created role, Hayden will primarily work with the existing Tokyo Corporate team, leveraging her network and experience of 25 years in the industry to further expand the Edelman offering for clients in Japan. Additionally she will work closely with Edelman teams across the region.
Based in Tokyo, Hayden will report to David Brain, president and CEO, Edelman Asia Pacific, and Ross Rowbury, president, Edelman Japan.
“Having spent 25 years in my previous position, the biggest challenge will be to learn about a new and much larger organisation as I work together with my many new colleagues across the region,” Hayden told Campaign Asia-Pacific.
Prior to this dual role, Hayden was the managing partner of Kreab Gavin Anderson, Japan. She joined Gavin Anderson in Japan in 1988 and was appointed president and CEO in 2008. With the merger of Gavin Anderson & Company with the Kreab Group in 2009, she was appointed to the executive committee and board of the merged company.
Hayden also serves on the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise’s Beachhead Committee for Japan, and as the co-chair of the American Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Committee.
