DDB Singapore hires Roy to head Rapp and Tan to lead retail arm

SINGAPORE - DDB Group Singapore has hired Sandipian Roy (pictured) and Sabrina Tan to strengthen its planning integration team and build and deliver retail management capabilities.

DDB Group Singapore has appointed Sandipian Roy in a dual role to strengthen planning integration and as head of Rapp Singapore's operations.

"Sandipan is an exceptional combination of brand practitioner, CRM expert, a solid planner an ideas person and a business chief," said David Tang, president and CEO of DDB Group Singapore.

Roy comes with over 20 years of experience having worked at Wunderman/ Y&R, Ogilvy One, Draft, DDB Mudra and most recently Cheil Worldwide where he was regional strategic director.

He is known to be a multi-dimensional marketer and thought leader in the development of brands, customer relationships and technology.

Roy has also worked on a wide range of blue-chip accounts, such as Singapore Tourism Board, Samsung, Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, BMW, Jaguar, Changi Airport, Unilever and Mashreq Bank.  

Separately, the agency group has also recruited Sabrina Tan as retail business director at Retail@Rapp, to manage the agency’s new retail management division.

In this role, Tan will strengthen the specialist retail unit, as well as to manage its capability in brand engagement through data, design and store activation.

"We’re upping our expertise by hiring Sabrina, who brings on board her build-and-deliver capabilities," Tang said.

He added, "She has spent 13 years working in and around the business of retail and is highly experienced in retail store architecture, layout and design development, as well as insight into developing new ways of customer engagement in-store."

Tan joins from Lend Lease Retail where she was responsible for developing sustainable processes to maximise commercial retail space and utility.

Both Roy and Tan will report to David Tang directly.
