Daihatsu Indonesia searches for agency

JAKARTA - Japanese carmaker Daihatsu Motor is on the lookout for an agency to launch an MPV model in Indonesia.

Daihatsu Indonesia searches for agency
The company’s existing four roster agencies, Dwi Sapta, BN Pratama, Macs 909 and Oze have all been invited for a pitch schedule for next month.

Rocky Irfayandi, executive co-ordinator for marketing communications at Daihatsu Motor Indonesia, said that the company is still in the process of deciding whether or not to invite more agencies. “We prefer to invite fewer agencies,” he said.

Daihatsu, which considers Suzuki as its biggest competitor in Indonesia, will launch an-as-yet unnamed MPV brand in the first quarter of next year.

Astra Daihatsu Motor, the Indonesian distributor of Daihatsu Motor, announced plans to lift domestic sales by 50 per cent in 2008, to 75,000, and to boost exports to 46,000 units this year.
