Omnicom Media Group has appointed Claudine Kwek as chief operating officer for its business in China, effective in March.

The newly created COO role will be responsible for "driving operational excellence" among OMG China's full-service media agencies, OMD and PHD, as well as the group’s data and analytics division, Annalect, according to a release.

Kwek joins from WPP, where she spent 18 years in APAC. Most recently, she assumed the position of president of trading and investment for Tenthavenue in Shanghai in 2016, overseeing the company’s trading strategy and vendor relationship management for WPP agencies including Kinetic, Joule and Forward. Earlier, she held the COO title at GroupM in Shanghai and Tenthavenue in Shanghai.

Tony Harradine, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, commented: “Claudine’s track record in reorganising agencies and generating operational efficiencies, coupled with her extensive knowledge of the communications industry in China, make her the ideal candidate to augment our agencies’ leadership.”
