According to Cheil, Cawley's appointment is part of its global growth strategy as the agency has "been pushing hard to further develop retail businesses".

Cawley's remit is to strengthen Cheil's retail capability across the global network through shopper insights and creative thinking. Cawley relocated to Seoul at the end of last year and will report to Cheil Worldwide COO Michael Kim.

Cawley has been in the advertising industry for 26 years, during which time she has worked with a wide range of clients including Bosch, Coca Cola, Chrysler Jeep, Halifax, P&G, McDonald’s, Samsung and Tesco. She was also responsible for growing Arc over her three-year period in the role of managing director, during which time its staff increased from 80 to 145.

During her time at Arc London, Cawley has also held positions as head of experiential and deputy managing director. Prior to this, she was at Triangle Group London (acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2001) for 16 years, which included a six-year stint as managing director of retail agency, Storm.
