Five agencies, among them Matari Advertising, have been asked to pitch for its e-banking account. BRI recently added an SMS facility to its e-banking offer, whereby consumers can sign up at ATMs for text alerts.

Separately, BRI is pitching a brief for its savings product Prioritas, which targets premium customers. Grey Advertising and Matari Advertising are among the agencies invited to participate.

BRI, which has 30 million retail clients, previously initiated a search for a creative agency to promote its BritAma savings account to urban-living Indonesians, with a budget of about US$15 million.

Matari Advertising handled the BritAma account for three months last year, though the client is understood to be looking for an agency for at least 12 months .

In July, the bank placed the creative and media duties for its rural savings product Simpedes - worth over $2 million - with Havas agencies Euro RSCG and MPG Indonesia, respectively.
