AXN HD to debut in Asia

SINGAPORE - SPE Networks Asia (SPENA) has signed an agreement with GlobeCast and MEASAT Satellite Systems to distribute the AXN HD channel across Asia Pacific, with a regional debut scheduled in Seoul in March.

The channel will offer 24-hour entertainment in the form of action, adventure, reality and lifestyle programming such as CSI, Contender Asia and Numbers.

GlobeCast will reportedly deliver a signal from Singapore to its Hong Kong teleport for uplink to the MEASAT-3 platform and transmission to Korea.

GlobeCast, a subsidiary of France Telecom, is a global content management and transmission service provider; MEASAT offers satellite communication services to broadcasters in Asia.
