The partnership will allow AXN's current programming of Korean subtitled English language shows to be further localised with the addition of Korean content, and help AXN's distribution further expand into the cable industry in the country.

AXN entered the Korea market in July 2005 as a foreign retransmission channel and launched its HD channel in March 2009. The channel's line-up include US programming including CSI and Law & Order.

AXN was the first international general entertainment channel to secure carriage on all three IPTV platforms, and currently has a combined reach of over four million households including Cable and Sky Life (DTH).

"Since its launch in Korea, it has been very well-received, as can be seen by the distribution growth achieved over a relatively short span of time," said Ricky Ow, senior vice-president and general manager of SPE Networks Asia.

AXN is an international channel brand started in Asia. The channel is seen in more than 97 million households across 23 countries pan-regionally, including 40 million households on a time-block basis in China.
