Apple's iPad finally arrives in China this week

Apple will initially only be launching the Wi-Fi model, while the roll out of its 3G model in the mainland has not yet been decided.

The 16GB model is set to retail at RMB3,988 (US$590), 32GB at RMB4,788 (US$409) and 64GB at RMB5,588 (US$828).

Apple has not yet handed rights to local distributors. China Unicom currently has the rights to the iPhone. The telco started selling an iPad specific USIM card for users that have purchased the device from overseas, but stopped doing so after one day.

The tablet computer was introduced to Hong Kong in mid-July and sold out in a matter of minutes.
