Apple guns for Microsoft via Google

GLOBAL - Apple is taking aim at Windows users looking to download Windows 7 by running a paid search campaign that attempts to redirect users.

Apple guns for Microsoft via Google
Apple has paid for search ads to appear against the term 'Windows 7 download', urging consumers to switch to a Mac instead.

They attempt to exploit the requirement to wipe the system clean in order to upgrade from XP to Windows 7 as a potential barrier, telling consumers they may as well switch to a Mac if they're going to have to start from scratch anyway.

The search ads support three new Apple TV ads slating Windows 7. In one, the 'Mac' in the ad says 'I'm sure I've heard that before' when the 'PC' says: "Windows 7 is out and it's not going to have any of the problems my last operating system had; trust me."

Windows Vista, the predecessor to Windows 7, has been the subject of extreme criticism, even from Microsoft fans, for a series of bugs and flaws.
