Apco picks Subasinghe to strengthen India operations

WASHINGTON - Apco Worldwide has commissioned Devinda Subasinghe (pictured), a former Sri Lankan ambassador to the US and Mexico, to its International Advisory Council (IAC).

Rotating between the US, Sri Lanka and India, Subasinghe will reportedly concentrate on strengthening the independent communications firm’s operations in India, which are centred in Mumbai and New Delhi. His appointment follows that of Lalit Mansingh, who will also offer support to clients in the India market.

Subasinghe’s areas of expertise include economic reform, private-sector development and foreign investment. He served at the World Bank and International Finance Corporation in an advisory capacity, and is currently president of Bridging Nations, an organisation that aims to foster the relationship between the China, India and the US.

The IAC consulting body is formed by senior members of government, diplomatic, academic, media, business and non-profit organisations.
