Lexus LC 500 tears up projection-mapped mountains

From The UK: 'Into the light', for Lexus by motion designer Edgar Davey and projection mapping specialists QED Productions

The video above has just launched in the UK, where Lexus is trying to build lust for its LC 500 coupe, due out in 2017.

Ad Nut applauds any attempt to improve upon the cliche of a car driving on a twisty and suspiciously deserted mountain road, and enjoyed the way the car's passing apparently ripped holes in the mountainsides.

As you can see in the making-of video below, the ad took a lot of planning and artistry, not to mention some serious hardware. But as with earlier ads by Nike and Airbnb, Ad Nut bemoans that few people will appreciate that craft, thinking it's merely CGI.
