Kasikornbank's ad renaissance lives on

Meet Chainarong, Thai renaissance man, in another quirky yet accessible campaign from Greynj United.

Whenever Thailand's Kasikornbank comes out with a new campaign, Ad Nut's tail starts quivering with excitement and it's not just because the client promotes savings and seemingly has an 'acorn' in its title.

No, it's because when Kasikornbank and GreynJ United Bangkok team up, you never quite know what you're going to get.  Will it be a runaway hit like their hilarious short film Friendshit, which ran away with a Grand Prix and Spikes and Gold Lion at Cannes? Or will it be the just as quirky, but much more of a bewildering headscratcher follow-up like their Face/Off film, which still managed a gold and couple of silver Spikes this year?

Fortu-nut-ly for Ad Nut's sore noggin, their latest effort, "Renaissance Man" is much more easily accessible.  It features a single character, Chainarong, who is a Thai boxing champion, also a multi-linguist, a makeup KOL, an acclaimed sonata pianist, pastry chef... you get the idea.

The punchline is easy to get too.  If you can do everything yourself, hat's off to you. If not, Kasikornbanks' MADHUB is a place you can go to get all your online business needs.

Yet almost makes Ad Nut sad that the client-agency duo has resorted back to a more mainstream strategy and message.  Were it not for the German phrases delivered with the same delightful deadpan, Ad Nut might feel the entertainment is losing its edge.
