Asus unveils madcap 'streetsourced' ad

Aliens and dinosaurs feature in a commercial scripted by random people on the street.

SuperHeroes Amsterdam hired two comedians from New York's Upright Citizens Brigade, an improvisational comedy group, to approach people on the street and collect ideas for an ad showcasing the Asus ZenFone 3. A real director then turned the script into the ad above.

Ad Nut likes this fun spin on crowdsourcing and thinks the ad captures the 'Yes, and...' spirit of improv comedy quite well. That positive concept is also a good match for the Taiwan-based brand's message that the phone empowers users to be creative.

Although 'yes, and' is a good thing, Ad Nut feels the brand made the right choice in not using the suggested strapline, 'Just buy it. Don't be a douche'.
