Wunderman’s Lab brews up social media strategies

BANGKOK – Wunderman Thailand has set up up The Lab in response to evolving consumer behaviour towards digital and social engagements.

A dedicated social media department called The Lab has been set up to serve Wunderman’s clients in Thailand. Nick Annetts, managing director of Wunderman Thailand explains a maturing social media landscape in Thailand as the reason for the setup the outfit.

"This year we saw many of our clients having to do big readjustments to their plans in order to keep up with very fast-changing shifts in consumer behaviour in the social media environment," said Nick Annetts, managing director of Wunderman Thailand. "The Lab team will focus on ways we can engage digital and social media changes as they happen, enabling our clients to get ideas ahead of the curve."

 Leveraging its extensive data and analytic expertise, Wunderman Thailand adds core social media capabilities including listening, social strategy, viral touch point planning, mobile marketing, Facebook applications, user experiences and social media analytics or optimisation.

The Lab's team of six is headed by Nina Pornthananunt, bringing together a mix of newly recruited social media educated staff, and digital experts from within Wunderman.  "We have managed to recruit some very talented individuals, who bring with them international experience and learning to the Thai market. The one thing the team all have in common, is they live eat and breath digital," Annetts said.

"This will be tailored specifically in areas they may not have yet tried, such as location-based services," Annetts said.

Wunderman’ client portfolio in Thailand includes Diageo, Ford, Mazda and Thai Airways.
