Visa appoints Dee Dutta as head of marketing Asia-Pacific

ASIA-PACIFIC - Former Sony Ericsson executive Dee Dutta (pictured) has been appointed Visa International's head of marketing for Asia-Pacific.

Sources close to the brand said that Dutta is currently in Los Angeles meeting Visa International’s team there.

Dutta replaces Rajiv Kapoor, who was promoted to head of products and marketing for Central Europe, Middle East and Africa in April.

Dutta was formerly Sony Ericsson mobile communications vice-president and head of marketing,

Based in the UK, Dutta left Sony Ericsson in March 2008. During his time at the joint-venture mobile brand, he led the company’s participation in tennis. He agreed the deal to sponsor the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami and signed up Maria Sharapova, who became Sony Ericsson’s first global brand ambassador in early 2008.
