Vietnam News Agency relaunches as Vietnam+

HANOI - Vietnam News Agency (VNA), the Government's news service, is being revamped as Vietnam+ to target a new market of individual newsreaders in the country.

Vietnam News Agency relaunches as Vietnam+
Le Quoc Minh, editor-in-chief of Vietnam+/Vietnam News Agency, said: “Previously, we provided news online for media organisations only, and now we think individual readers should get access.”

“The Vietnam News Agency has been in good position to cover all events that take place in any part of the country as well as other countries in the world as we are the biggest media organisation in the country, even in the Southeast Asian region.”

Vietnam+ will also draw from the VNA database of the entire digitalised content system, which has been in operation for over a decade.

The revamped site will inherit VNA’s network of 1,100 reporters and editors at 63 locations across the country and 27 overseas bureaus on five continents to become one of the leading networks in the region.

Besides being a portal for news, Vietnam+ will also feature other services including newsletter alerts, mobile/SMS news plus internet TV and radio among others.

“The new website also uses the most advanced technology that allows users to personalise how they use the site as much as possible. Of course, more will come,” added Le.
