Cheng will manage the overall creative team in the Hong Kong office and oversee clients such as Philips, McDonald’s, Tourism Australia and Macau's City of Dreams. Tribal DDB launched a marketing campaign for the latter after Omnicom picked up the account in May this year.

Chen will report to Eric Phu, who recently moved to Hong Kong from Euro RSCG Sydney as managing director.

“His lethal combination of skills has already sprung some very successful and highly recognised campaigns over the past few years,” said Dirk Eschenbacher, regional ECD and managing partner of Tribal DDB Asia-Pacific.

Previously digital creative director at Euro RSCG Australia, Cheng has won several trophies at major award shows including Adfest and both the Asian Promotional and Digital Marketing Association awards.

Cheng added: “After 25 years of living abroad, I think I’m most excited about the opportunity to combine my international experience with Tribal DDB’s local knowledge, creative talent and advanced technologies. I see this as a chance to propel our digital solutions forward and to be recognised as the best in the region and globally.”
