Based in Dubai and Kuala Lumpur, Thinkscape is a non-traditional firm, specialising in brand strategy, architecture, design, experiential marketing and digital. Founded in 2000 by Sarawakian Creative Brand Builder and Design Architect John Jong, Thinkscape works with clients from all sectors across the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

John Jong, who will now act as group chief creative officer of Thinkscape, says, “I am delighted that Zayn decided to join us. When we met in 2010 it became immediately obvious that we shared the same vision regarding the future of brand experience. Zayn was seeking a new challenge and I was seeking a partner and CEO to take the business to the next level. We clicked immediately and started building a vision of where we want to take the company. Zayn brings to Thinkscape valuable experience including strategic planning, business management and global brand leadership, and to me it seems more than a coincidence that he also trained and worked as an architect earlier in his career. I couldn’t think of a better fit for our unique design-centered consultancy which includes a full architectural practice.”

Khan joins after a 10 year tenure with Ogilvy & Mather during which he ran Ogilvy Malaysia’s operations as group managing director, followed by a role as regional business strategy director, has already begun developing a new and enhanced business model and expansion plan for Thinkscape Group.

“When I left Ogilvy, I decided it was now time to do my own thing and realise my vision of a consultancy that truly moves beyond the traditional category thinking and offers a fresh holistic proposition to clients to help them solve their brand and business problems.  I started to write a business plan for the ideal agency which combined my passions for brand strategy, corporate identity, architecture and brand experience. When I met John and learned about Thinkscape’s set up, I realised I didn’t have to look any further.”
