Designed by STW Group’s Moon Communications Group as part of the event’s brand strategy for 2012, the tattoos were done by Bondi Ink just prior to the official launch.

The event, has also been renamed from the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras to simply Sydney Mardi Gras in an effort to encompass a broader audience.

“The new brand celebrates the power and beauty of the diversity of people, and is about having the right to love who you want,"said Moon CEO Anouk Darling. "We also wanted to express a strong sense of community and participation, which says no matter who you are or where you are from, you are welcome at the Sydney Mardi Gras.”

PR relations activities for the event will be managed by Hill & Knowlton.
