Starcom China announces three senior appointments

SHANGHAI - Starcom China today announced three key senior appointments in China including Jonathan Hsia, Jeffrey Tan and Caterina Camerata all based in Shanghai.

Jonathan Hsia (pictured, left) joins as general manager of Starcom China's digital division and Jeffrey Tan as director of national research and insights. In addition, Caterina Camerata (pictured, right) has also been hired as Starcom Shanghai's human experience strategy director.

Hsia and Tan reports to Bertilla Teo, CEO, Starcom MediaVest Group Greater China, and Camerata reports to Lisa Richert, the group's human experience strategy director for North Asia. All three will be based in Shanghai.

"We're thrilled to have the three of them on board, and their appointments are further testament to Starcom's commitment to deliver meaningful brand experiences to all our clients in China," said Teo.

Hsia, who has over 10 years' experience, was previously VP and director of digital investment and activation at Starcom MediaVest Group in New York. During his tenure, he led the oversight of digital media spend across all brands within the Coca-Cola portfolio.

In his new role, he will be responsible for building and managing the digital business, as well as being tasked with new business development and strengthening the digital capabilities of Starcom in China.

Tan was the head of the consumer Insights division at Mindshare China, providing strategic insights support and bespoke research solutions to clients such as HSBC, Nike, Rolex, Pepsi, KFC, Unilever, Nestle, Maybelline and Hong Kong Disneyland. He has over 10 years' marketing research experience including a stint as head of insights at Starcom Singapore.

As the new director for national research and insights, Tan will be working with research and strategy teams to generate a deeper understanding of consumers' media/ communications interactions, support planning teams to identify and prioritise clients' research needs, as well as address those needs through custom insights and/ or advanced analytics approaches.

Camerata, who was previously head of strategy at Starcom MediaVest Group in Spain where she drove the development of strategic planning excellence across the entire Spanish portfolio of clients, has been with the network for the past seven years.

As Starcom Shanghai's human experience strategy director, Camerata will be working closely with Richert to support and underpin the company's objective in designing meaningful brand experiences that connect its clients' brands to their audiences.
