This is the fifth partnership between Discovery and Snow Beer. The sponsorship kicks off with the premiere of the first season of the series in China, and continues through to March 2010.

Fang Chang, senior vice-president and general manager China, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said: “For the first time, this series is being filmed in China. With Snow Beer's partnership, our audiences in China will also be able to watch this exciting series. We hope to be able to continue to capitalise on synergies between our brands, and look forward to providing audiences everywhere with more engaging and compelling content.”

Wang Qun, managing director, Snow Beer said, “Bear Grylls and the Man vs Wild series demonstrate strong determination and the strength of the human spirit in overcoming tough environments and difficulties, which embodies the brand spirit of Snow Beer.”

The Man vs Wild series is filmed in various locations all over the world including America, Europe, Australia and Africa.

An episode of the latest season filmed in China’s Hainan province is scheduled to premiere internationally on Discovery Channel early next year as part of season four.

In August, Discovery launched the 'First-time filmmaker' (FTFM) project to help develop and support the documentary storytelling skills of local filmmakers in Vietnam.
