Singapore Flyer hunts for creative agency

SINGAPORE - Singapore Flyer, the city state's answer to the London Eye, is in search of a creative agency.

Singapore Flyer hunts for creative agency

According to sources, DDB and Proximity were two of the agencies invited to pitch to Adval Brand Group, the company in charge of marketing, sales and ticket distribution for Singapore’s soon-to-open tourist attraction.

Charles Wong, Adval’s marketing communications manager, said that results of the pitch are not imminent as the company is currently focusing on a PR push.

The company is piggybacking Singapore Tourism Board’s “Uniquely Singapore” advertising push, produced by Y&R - which is not pitching for the Singapore Flyer business.

“The Singapore Flyer is not in operation yet so there is no use in us putting out our own ads. That will come next year. The chosen agency will work on international and domestic campaigns,” explained Wong.

The Singapore Flyer is a 178-metre giant ferris wheel located near the upcoming Marina Bay integrated resort. STB expects it to attract one million visitors when it launches in March 2008.
