In his new role, McConnachie will lead Hong Kong’s marketing team in product management, brand communications, customer strategy and analytics, digital marketing, and investment-linked business support.

Most recently, McConnachie held the position of regional director at Prudential Corporation Asia. His achievements included revising Prudential's direct marketing strategy across Asia and implementing greater use of data management techniques, the insurer said.

Derek Yung, chief executive officer of Prudential Hong Kong, said, "Iain has brought tremendous success to Prudential Corporation Asia’s business in the past couple of years, and will help Prudential Hong Kong to become the premier provider of insurance and financial solutions.”

Prior to Prudential, he was director of direct marketing for EMEA for ACE Insurance in London.

Apart from Hong Kong, Prudential operates in 12 other markets under a “hybrid” model of decentralization – in which local teams adapt branding strategies to their own particular circumstances, according to an interview with Julie Lyle, chief marketing officer for Prudential Corporation Asia.
