The new partnership, PHD Sri Lanka, will operate out of Colombo. Shivanka De Zoysa (pictured right) will lead as CEO of the local operations.

He started his career at Ceylon Tobacco Company and has held senior management positions at Shaw Wallace and Hedges, Aitken Spence Group and Richard Peiris and Company prior.

On the partnership, PHD’s Asia-Pacific chief executive, Cheuk Chiang (pictured left), said: “When we speak to prospective global clients, they usually want to talk about our presence and resources in the emerging and frontier markets and Sri Lanka is among them. Finding good people is imperative to our business and I am a firm believer that in order to service a client properly in these markets, media agencies need to have a solid foothold in the market themselves, as well as be an integral part of a global network.”

De Zoysa added: “We are very familiar with Omnicom Media Group and very pleased to be working now with PHD - a challenger brand that is practically blazing its brand name across this region. I cannot tell you how excited we are to be working with PHD on upcoming projects.”
