Pabaru takes on senior Nielsen role

HONG KONG - Umang Pabaru (pictured) has been appointed to the newly created role of MD for Nielsen Consumer Research, Greater China.

Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Mitch Barns, president, The Nielsen Company, Greater China in Shanghai and Dave Parma, president, global consumer research, The Nielsen Company, in the US.

He is a veteran in international consumer and market research with more than 14 years’ experience.

Pabaru was with TNS for eight years and most recently was its director, consumer sector for Hong Kong & Singapore.

“With the current financial challenges in Asia, part of Pabaru’s main role is to be innovative in helping clients weather the storm, and drive the synergies of the Greater China research team to help our key clients in different sectors like FMCG, banking and telecommunications industry,” said spokesperson of The Nielsen Company.
