OMG appoints regional digital officer

Omnicom Media Group promotes from within for position uniting digital and investment expertise across OMD and PHD.

Omnicom Media Group has appointed Rochelle Chhaya, previously managing partner, investment, at OMG Singapore, as chief digital officer for Asia Pacific.

Chhaya will report to Paul Shepherd, OMG's chief investment officer, to ensure that the group's digital capabilities are matched with strong investment strategies and relationships at scale, according to a release. She will also oversee the development of specialist skills across each digital capability within markets.

"By appointing a chief digital officer, we are building a truly regional expertise that can spread the best capabilities and practices across all of our markets," Tony Harradine, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, said. "Given her background in building our digital capabilities in Singapore and Thailand, as well as her knowledge and experience in our group’s investment strategies, Rochelle is in the best position to lead this.”

The appointment is effective immediately, but Chhaya "will be fully transitioned into her new role by December 2018", according to the company, to ensure the smooth succession of the Singapore Investment function.
