Nickelodeon partners UN children project

ASIA-PACIFIC - Nickelodeon has partnered with United Nations Environment Programme to engage children for a global environmental initiative on climate change.

Besides the on-air promotion through television, The Big Green Help project incorporates green messages within television series, online games and quizzes to generate involvement from children. Schools can also participate in the Big Green Help Project Sheets competition, with the top five schools from each country featuring on the channel.

Popular cartoon characters, Spongebob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and others will be the spokespersons in a bid to closer relate to the target group, age two to 12. The campaign will launch in Singapore and Malaysia, while the rest of Asia will follow in 2009.
