Neymar Jr named global brand ambassador for TCL

Chinese consumer-electronics maker TCL has appointed Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr as the company's global brand ambassador, to reach young sports fans.

The exclusive ambassorship is TCL’s latest plank in an extensive series of sports sponsorships worldwide. The agreement will last for two years, during which Neymar Jr will appear on TCL's TV and print commercials promoting its major businesses including TCL Multimedia.

"Neymar Jr. is truly a global sports icon who inspires fans to strive to reach the ultimate standards of excellence, just as TCL constantly strives for excellence in technological and product innovation," said Tomson Li, chairman and CEO of TCL Corporation.

The company’s other sports partnerships include NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, soccer team San Jose Earthquakes, Brazilian Football Confederation, Rosario Central Football Club in Argentina, Philippine Basketball Association, The Melbourne Cup and Melbourne Victory Football Club in Australia, Chinese Men's National Basketball Team, and Chinese Basketball Association.
