In a partnership with the Ministry of Communications, Arts and Information (MICA) and the National Heritage Board (NHB), NLB launched 'Singapore Memory' online, with the aim of gathering five million memories by 2015.

The platform provides an online space for all Singaporeans to upload their personal memories and stories for visitors to browse. It will also include specially-commissioned content from writers and students. Social functionality allows visitors to comment on the shared memories and post content they like directly to their social networks including Facebook.

Gene Tan, director at National Library Office, said, “A national project like the Singapore Memory Project needed a dose of romance and magic. XM Asia bowled us over with an aesthetic that was very emotive and that translated into a web design that was like no other campaign sites ever done. We are very pleased that this artistry is tied very closely to an uncompromising professionalism in understanding client needs and proposing only the most optimum solution.”

Jorine Kok, account director of XM Asia, noted that the work is an example of how digital can build up a rich and entertaining national story made up of personal experiences of the Singaporeans.

“It has been a privilege to work with the fantastic people at the National Library Board on this important and unique project,” she said.
