MTV Networks to localise New Zealand offer

MTV Networks Asia-Pacific and SKY Television have announced a deal to broadcast localised versions of MTV and Nickelodeon in New Zealand later this year. MTV New Zealand is due to launch as a 24 hour network on August 19 while Nickelodeon is to be relaunched as a customised channel targeting two to 14 year olds on August 1. Both channels will be carried by SKY Television. According to a statement, the channels will be made available to more than 650,000 homes, representing 43 per cent of all television homes nationwide.
