Mondelez's Asia-Pacific offices sees management changes

ASIA-PACIFIC - Global food company Mondelez has promoted Leanne Cutts to president and managing director of its Japan operations, leaving a vacancy in the regional marketing role.

According to Cutts' LinkedIn page, she took on the new role in May.

Cutts joined Mondelez in 2011 as vice-president of marketing for Asia-Pacific. Based in Singapore, she was responsible for driving the growth of gum, candy and powdered beverages, as well as leading consumer insights and analytics programmes.

It is unclear who will be taking over Cutts' Asia-Pacific role. A spokesperson for Mondelez did not immediately respond to queries from Campaign Asia.

Meanwhile in India, a recent report by The Economic Times said Manu Anand, the former top boss at PepsiCo India, will now be leading Mondelez India. Managing director Anand Kripalu is reportedly leaving to take up a role at a liquor multinational.

Kripalu joined Cadbury in 2006 and headed its India and Southeast Asia operations until 2012. He was recently redesignated as India MD after the chocolate maker appointed Jaya Kumar, former senior vice-president of strategy in Asia, to head Southeast Asia.

These changes were a part of the company’s new structure of four business units: developed markets, Southeast Asia, India and China. “The new streamlined region structure is expected to fuel collaboration, expediting decision-making and driving efficiencies,” a spokesperson told Campaign at the time.

Anand’s departure from PepsiCo was seen as a sudden and unexpected move.
