Microsoft appoints global marketer

In a transitionary period Capossela will work with Mich Mathews, who is due to retire as the senior vice-president of the computer giant's central marketing group this summer, and will report to chief operating officer Kevin Turner.

Microsoft has combined the central marketing group with its consumer channels business, which works with Microsoft's OEM, retail, mobile operator and distribution partners.

He has worked at the company for 20 years and worked in a variety of marketing, technical and field roles.
