According to the Michelin China website, the company is hiring a CRM specialist to initiate and optimise appropriate CRM programmes for all of its brands.
Michelin has two plants in China, in Shanghai and Shenyang, a research and development centre and a head office in Shanghai, as well as sales offices in Xian, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang, Shanghai and a representative office in Hong Kong since 1988.
Michelin TyrePlus is a global network of independent Michelin licensees.
According to China Daily news article in July, Michelin Group hopes to turn China into its biggest market by expanding its manufacturing capacity in the country and supplying tyres for Chinese-made aircraft.
The company has invested US$1.45 billion in building a tyre production factory in Shenyang, Liaoning province. Construction is expected to be completed in 2014.
Yves Chapot, president of Michelin China was quoted in the article as saying China's auto market will continue to grow because there are just 50 cars for every 1,000 inhabitants, compared with more than 500 or 600 for every 1,000 inhabitants in Western Europe, North America and Japan. "Tyre sales will increase along with the sales of new cars, as well as the increasing vehicle ownership," Chapot said.
In August, Michelin renewed its retainer with Ruder Finn China following a pitch, marking its 15th year working with the communications firm.
