Mehta joins Y&R Indonesia as CEO

JAKARTA - Vishal Mehta (pictured), the former vice-president of client services at DDB Singapore, has joined Y&R Indonesia as the CEO replacing Johan Shabudin who left the agency to set up his own business.

Mehta joins Y&R Indonesia as CEO
Mehta, who started his career with Contract in India, has previously worked with McCann Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur. Prior to joining DDB Singapore, he was the general manager of McCann Singapore.

Ambar Brahmachary, CEO of Y&R for Asia-Pacific, said: “Vishal is a very fine CEO. He has vast experience in creative and strategic planning and is especially sound with strategy, which is really important.”

Brahmachary also said that Mehta’s appointment follows the appointment of Sachin Ambekar as the ECD for Y&R Jakarta a few months ago. Prior to joining Y&R Ambekar was the creative director at BBDO Malaysia and has also worked with Dentsu Singapore and TBWA.

“Indonesia is a high-growth market and clients are very bullish there. It has been witnessing growth of four per cent currently, and this is an opportune time to strengthen the team in the country. Everywhere we are present we are making sure that there are strong partnerships between the creative and the agency head,” added Brahmachary.
