SINGAPORE - Singapore's second most read newspaper, Today, is slashing its circulation and advertising rates for its weekend edition in light of 'tough times'.

MediaCorp's Today slashes weekend edition circulation and ad rates
The freesheet, which is printed by MediaCorp, is trimming down its weekend distribution to 150,000 copies without revealing figures for its original circulation while advertising rates have been slashed from S$28 (US$18) per column to $15 per column.

According to a circular sent to advertisers, MediaCorp Press MD Philip Koh noted that the changes were made because “we understand that tough times are here and every cent matters”.

Today’s readership of 590,000 trails Singapore Press Holding’s leading broadsheet, The Straits Times, with a readership of 1.3 million.
