MEC Asia-Pacific appoints Poole to interactive role

SINGAPORE - MEC Asia-Pacific has appointed Ben Poole as head of interaction, making him the network's top digital executive in the region.

MEC Asia-Pacific appoints Poole to interactive role
Poole will oversee their client’s interactive and digital business development, making use of digital channels as an economical and innovative medium in the current economic downturn.

Poole took on the new role after departing MediaCom International as head of digital in London. His digital portfolio includes key clients such as Audi, IKEA, T-Mobile, Mars, Shell, Universal Movies and Wrigley. Most recently he has been overseeing Procter & Gamble's digital business in Western Europe. With more than ten years of online experience, Poole is not a newcomer in GroupM, spending his early days in MEC UK’s interactive team.

Poole’s appointment is part of MEC’s expansion plan and as CEO Joost Dop said, “the digital department has now more than 300 staff, with particular growth in China, India and Australia.”

Poole will report directly to Dop.

Clarification: Earlier versions of this article said Poole would be handling Procter & Gamble at MediaCom. This was incorrect.
