McCann Worldgroup Philippines appoints Gino Borromeo as VP strategic planning

MANILA - McCann Worldgroup has appointed Gino Borromeo as vice-president - strategic planning, with effect from 15 October.

Borromeo returns to McCann and the Philippines after a three-year stint in Singapore, where he handled regional planning roles at Saatchi & Saatchi and JWT, in working with brands including Sony Ericsson and the Singapore Economic Development Board, as well as a global planning role for Unilever’s Lux.

In his new role, he will lead the team in building new leadership territories and enhancing value offerings to clients, particularly in the areas of digital, shopper marketing and healthcare planning. He will also play a central role in expanding McCann’s thought leadership and continuing to drive the agency’s legacy of championing consumer, brand and market truths.

McCann Worldgroup chairman, president and CEO Ricki Arches said, “Gino understands the McCann brand very well. With his wealth of experience with some of the world’s most reputable brands, he will definitely enrich our strategic capabilities and drive them to the next level."

Borromeo began his career at McCann Erickson and Harrison Communications in the Philippines where he worked on brands such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Vaseline, Jollibee and San Miguel. He moved to Singapore in 2007 where he took on some of the region’s high profile brands like HSBC, Pizza Hut, ESPN and Lexus.
