McCann Worldgroup India win two golds at The Appies

SINGAPORE - McCann Worldgroup India won two Gold awards at The Appies, a two-day marketing and advertising festival in Singapore last week.

McCann's winning campaigns were 'Do more with oats' for FMCG company Marico and 'Student suicide prevention drive' for the Maitri Foundation. Meanwhile, group planning director Dhiren Amin won one of the best presenter prizes.

Leo Burnett Sri Lanka, Ogilvy & Mather Shanghai, DDB Singapore, Y&R Thailand, BBH Asia Pacific, Lowe Lintas India, BBDO India and the Coca-Cola Export Corporation were the others to take home one of the 10 available gold Appies.

Held for the third year in Singapore, the two-day event awarded the top 15 marketing campaigns in the region judged on the basis of breaking category conventions, use of technology, quality of execution, idea and where a global adaptation is possible, said Leanne Cutts, vice-president of marketing, Kraft Foods Asia and a member of the 2012 Appies Advisory Council and assessors panel.

About 100 campaigns comprising 48 brands from across Asia-Pacific had been showcased to a panel of senior marketers.
