Mazuin Zin joins Lowe Malaysia as MD

KUALA LUMPUR - Lowe Malaysia has appointed Mazuin Zin as its managing director, following the recent win of national carmaker Perodua. Khairudin Rahim, the current managing director of Lowe Malaysia, has been promoted to the position of chairman.

To start in July, Zin is tasked with further strengthening the agency both on capability development and business growth. Perodua appointed Spin Communications and Lowe & Partners to its product and service business recently.

Prior to the appointment, Zin was the general manager for Leo Burnett and Arc Worldwide. She has spent more than a decade in various roles based in Malaysia and Singapore, managing numerous global brands and large local clients, including Samsung, P&G, Dutch Lady, Petronas, Proton, Malaysia Airports, McDonald’s, Philip Morris, ING, Pepsi, Unilever and Nestle.

“Mazuin is a great addition to Lowe,” said Rupen Desai, regional president of Lowe Asia-Pacific. “Her partnership with Brandie Tan (ECD at Lowe Malaysia) gives us a team stronger than ever before. We believe her leadership, along with the rest of the management team, will make Lowe Malaysia an agency to reckon with.”

Rahim said, “Mazuin has the extraordinary talent of both developing and maintaining a client’s trust to do the absolutely right thing for their brand, while at the same time rallying and inspiring her team to produce great work and effective results.”

The appointment follows Lowe Malaysia's exclusion from the recent Ikea creative pitch. The home furnishing retailer appointed Leo Burnett to take charge of its full suite of creative services.

Speaking of her role, Zin said, “I’m looking forward to joining Lowe Malaysia. The team is a strong combination of experienced hands and new blood, which gives the agency both a strong foundation and a hunger to keep getting better.”
