JSW Group appoints Grey in India

MUMBAI - The JSW Group, one of the fastest growing business conglomerates in India, has appointed Grey Mumbai to oversee its advertising in the country following a pitch.

Grey Mumbai was appointed on the basis of “sound strategy and interesting creative approach”, according to a statement.

The scope of work includes creating a corporate image for JSW as well as above- and below-the-line campaigns for the group and its various businesses. The size of the account is an estimated US$6.5 million.

Sharmila Banerjee, head of corporate communication for JSW Group, said: “Grey impressed us with the sheer volume and quality of work that reflected their committed approach to the business.

JSW Group boasts a strong presence in the core economic sector and has grown from a steel rolling mill in 1982 to a business conglomerate worth $3.7 billion.

As part of the $8 billion OP Jindal Group, JSW has diversified interests in steel, energy, minerals, mining, aluminum, infrastructure, logistic, cement and IT. The company is also the largest private sector manufacturer of steel in the country.
