Jacob Johansen resurfaces at Momentum after vacating Leagas Delaney post

SHANGHAI - The brand activation, experiential and shopper marketing discipline of McCann Worldgroup has appointed Jacob Johansen (pictured) as general manager for Momentum Greater China with immediate effect.

Johansen will work alongside Charlise Chen, Momentum Greater China’s executive creative director, to drive its business across the Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taipei offices.

Commenting on this appointment, John Steere, president and regional director of Momentum Greater China, said Jacob is highly respected, with more than 10 years of management experience in China managing both domestic and multinational clients at agencies such as DMG, TBWA Tequila, and Leagas Delaney.

Prior to joining Momentum China, Johansen was responsible for launching Leagas Delaney in Shanghai in 2009. During his time as managing partner, he handled a portfolio of accounts including Brother, Haagen-Dazs, InterContinental Hotels, Kraft Foods, Li Ning, LV, Media Markt, Skoda and Toblerone.

Leagas Delaney Shanghai is now being managed by its executive creative director cum partner Kevin Lee.

In his new job, Johansen is looking to convince Momentum's clients of the "power of brand-centred experiences" beyond product marketing. "There's a commitment at Momentum to better integrate experiential, social, digital and shopper marketing, and do this in real time", he said.
