Ian Chapman-Banks appointed as GM at Dell

ASIA-PACIFIC - Ian Chapman-Banks (pictured), former vice-president and general manager of marketing at Motorola, has been appointed as general manager of Dell's Asia-Pacific consumer division.

Before joining Dell, Banks was Motorola's vice-president and general manager of marketing for mobile devices responsible for enhancing the brand across 17 markets in Asia-Pacific. In June 2008 he was promoted to take control of Motorola's entire mobile business in Asia outside of China.

Prior to joining Motorola, Banks was the brand and channel marketing director for Microsoft in the Asia-Pacific region.

Banks has also held the role of marketing director for Apple in Asia-Pacific following Steve Jobs' return to the company.
