Commenting on the appointment, Alan Rutherford, current IAA chairman, said "Deborah is an ideal leader for a contemporary IAA. She is a successful entrepreneur with both vision and the ability to get things done. Her dedication to our industry and her global fluency is unparalleled."

Malone has been a member of the IAA since 1992 when she launched Ad Age International for Crain Communications. In 2003 she founded The Internationalist and will continue to oversee content across all its products while taking on the IAA leadership.
