IAA Malaysia elects 2012 executive committee

KUALA LUMPUR - The International Advertising Association (IAA) has elected its 2012 Executive Committee.

Harmandar Singh of Sledgehammer Communications retained his post as president for the coming term, together with T. Renganathan, CEO of Draftfcb, who continues as honorary secretary.

Peter de Kretser, COO of GO Communications, who remains as Chairman of Public Relations.

Newly elected into the IAA Malaysia Exco Committee were John D. Chacko, chief marketing officer or Proton Holdings, who assumes duties as vice president; Marceline Lemarie, group CEO of Katchi Group, as treasurer; as well as Yasmin Mokhtar, client services director for McCann Erickson, as chairman of membership and activity.

Janet Lee, director of 95% The Advertising Agency was appointed as chairman of training and development, while Chris Wee of SAYS.my will oversee the Young Professionals Category.

Singh noted that IAA’s primary objective for the year is to increase members by at least 50 per cent.

 “The IAA offers a strategic partnership which is not only pro-active and advocates freedom of commercial speech, but also champions the interest of all disciplines across the spectrum of marketing communications,” he added.

IAA Malaysia is also looking to organise the 44th IAA World Congress next year. It is an annual conference that serves as an industry thought leadership platform.
