Yeung is retiring in November after three years in the role to spend more time with his family. His career, spanning 30 years, includes leadership roles at Jardine OneSolution, Digital Equipment, Compaq, HP and most recently Microsoft.

Chow will step into the general manager role at Microsoft Hong Kong as soon as he wraps up the transition of his current assignment at SAP China.

He will be responsible for overall strategy, business operations and outreach in leading the executive team responsible for Microsoft's business in Hong Kong, including key customer organisations, business and marketing groups, and technical support and consultancy services.

Chow is a data management, business intelligence and enterprise mobility industry veteran. Prior to SAP, he was the VP and GM of North Asia for Sybase’s Asia-Pacific operations where he was responsible for financial performance and market leadership in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.

Ralph Haupter, corporate vice-president, chairman and CEO of Microsoft Greater China Region, said, “I trust that Horace will be an excellent leader of our Hong Kong business. We have exciting days ahead as we launch amazing new products and services while partnering in the region to help drive innovation, competitiveness and opportunity.”

Speaking of Yeung's concluding term at Microsoft, Haupter highlights double-digit growth, significant improvements in customer and partner satisfaction and an all-time-high level in employee satisfaction in Hong Kong.

“While it is sad to see PY leave our team, we all understand his desire to spend more time with his family after such an illustrious career. He will be missed,” he added.
