BANGKOK - Grey Group has appointed Pornthep Piyarat (pictured) as executive creative director in Thailand.

Piyarat rejoins the WPP firm after two years in the same role at Spa-Hakuhodo. An industry veteran with 21 years experience, Piyarat has worked at Y&R, Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett and JWT and will now offer strategic creative direction and develop new talent at Grey.

Reporting directly to Pattaraporn Wongmesak, Grey Group Thailand’s AVP and country manager, Piyarat will work closely with Ali Shabaz, chief creative officer of Grey Group Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. He will oversee work on accounts including Procter & Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline, AXA, United Nations Population Fund and Siam Park City.

Pattaraporn said: “While raising the creative bar at Grey Group Thailand, Pornthep will also serve as a key partner, supporting me in our hunt for new business across the region as we put forth sexy, creative work across the coming months.” She goes on to say that, “He has a proven track record of working with successful brands, and his insights into the Thai consumer will enable him to contribute a local perspective to the network’s roster of international brands.”
